European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Brno-based University hospital (Fakultní nemocnice u sv. Anny) is to cut 300 jobs out of 3,000 staff due to the economic plight. Doctors, nurses, administrative staff and other employees will be affected. As reported, dismissals will not have a negative effect on patients. The trade unions disagree with the planned layoffs and argue that the hospital should reduce debts through the modification of contracts with insurance companies.
