Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Warrington-based garden centre Bents Garden & Home has announced that it is to create 150 new positions. This follows an £8 million bank loan in February 2014 to expand the office and retail space at the site which is scheduled to open in October 2014.
A range of job opportunities will become available from chefs to work in the on-site restaurant to general assistants, customer service staff and supervisory positions. The company has stated that it is keen to employ local labour. Recruitment events will be held for potential applicants on July 8th, 10th and 12th.
