Finnish IT-service provider Tieto has announced that it will cut 180 jobs in Finland. According to the source, the group will cut a further 50 jobs in Sweden and in other countries. The job reductions in Finland are mainly in the Helsinki region, on the sites in Tammerfors and Uleåborg. The sources reports that the job reductions are within the units 'Consulting and System Integration' and 'Product Development Services'. It is reported that the job reductions are an attempt to enhance efficiency in a competitive market. Tieto is now entering into negotiations with trade unions.
