Description

German global engineering and electronics group Bosch has announced that it will employ 425 people at a new research and production centre in Jucu, near Cluj. According to the sources, the company currently employs 325 people in the city of Cluj and this will increase to 750 by the end of the year.

The source reports that the new plant is the result of a greenfield investment of €77 million. According to the source, this factory will be part of the Automotive Electronics Division, dealing with electronic control units, semiconductors and sensors for the automotive industry and other fields.

The new plant is part of Bosch’s restructuring in Romania, which will increase its production in Europe. Bosch currently employs 1,700 people in Romania, in Bucharest, Blaj, Cluj and Timisoara. The ERM previously reported on restructuring at Bosch in Romania in 2012.
