The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE), which is responsible for the running of Northern Ireland's power grid, has announced that it will cut 120 jobs. The source notes that the cuts are a result of the need to reduce its operating costs.
According to the source, compulsory redundancies will be avoided and a voluntary scheme is in operation. Negotiations have already begun between the company, the staff and the trade unions.
