Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Food production company Puris has announced that it will create 120 jobs when it restarts its production activities, after being bought by Geneza. Puris was declared bankrupt in September 2012 and Puris accepted Geneza’s offer to purchase the company in order to exit liquidation. When Puris went bankrupt it ceased production and all of its previous employees were made redundant.
Genesis will employ 80 workers in production and at the Incubator stations and 40 additional workers will be employed at their slaughterhouses.
The source reports that the buyout of Puris has been welcomed by many stakeholders, including creditors, the Ministry of Finance, former employees and the local government.
