Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Northern Ireland based electronics company Schrader Electronics is creating 241 new jobs at its Carrickfergus and Antrim plants on the back of a £56M investment. Invest NI has offered nearly £10M of this, which is in part funded by the European Regional Development Fund. The company is known for its production of tyre pressure gauges for the automotive industry.
The 241 jobs will be filled over the next three years and are expected to offer high value employment for engineers.
