Description
Sandvik, a Swedish mining and construction equipment group, has announced that it will cut 60 jobs in its site in Svedala. The source reports that external consultants and workers employed through recruitment agencies will also be at risk of redundancy.
The Svedala factory manufactures stone crushers for the mining industry and, according to the source, the cuts are due to a decrease in demand for Sandvik’s products caused by a general decline in the mining market.
The ERM has reported on previous restructuring events at Sandviken in 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2012.
