European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The global fried chicken chain KFC announced on April 28th its plans to create 1,300 new jobs in the UK and Ireland in 2014, as part of its expansion plans to open 32 new branches across the two countries this year alone. This will be the result of a £21 million investment and will increase the chain’s UK and Ireland workforce to 25,300.
It is foreseen that the current rate of expansion will continue over the next five years, resulting in the creation of up to 6,500 new jobs by 2019 and in the opening of 150 new outlets.
It is not yet known how the foreseen job creation will be split between the UK and Ireland.
