Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Lantmännen Lantbruk, a subsidiary of Swedish food, energy and agricultural group Lantmännen, has announced that it will cut 100 jobs. The Lantbruk company produces products related to the agriculture industry, such as animal feed and seeds.
As reported, the job reductions are part of a number of measures to enhance efficiency, as the company has suffered from a low sales performance during the past two years. According to the sources, the job losses refer mostly to the headquarters in Malmo and the reorganisation will be completed by August 2014. Employees have been notified and the company has entered negotiations with trade unions. For a previous restructuring event see Lantmännen Lantbruk-2009.
