Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Construction and engineering company WSP has announced that it will recruit 600 additional workers by the end of 2014. The new roles will be based within the company’s rail, road and residential businesses.
The company announced growth as a result of work on the Crossrail project and the London Bridge station upgrade as well as an expansion in its residential sector. The company is heavily focused on recruitment and retention. The move to increase staff numbers in the UK forms part of a global move to recruit an additional 5,000 employees worldwide in the next 2 years.
