European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
A partnership between Portuguese furniture manufacturer Aquinos and the municipality of Nelas will result in the creation of 450 jobs at a new production unit in Nelas, which will be manufacturing sofas. Furthermore, 150 jobs will likely to be created indirectly.
According to the municipality’s president, Aquinos will open its unit in June 2014 and will inject more than EUR 7 million per year in wages in the local and regional economy.
The ERM reported on a previous round of job creation at Aquinos in 2011.
