Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
IT services firm Atos Information Technology will close its site in Frankfurt (Hesse) by the end of September 2014 and thus make 300 staff redundant.
According to a spokesperson, the site is no longer competitive. As a result of a lack of orders, about 10% of the employees are not working to capacity right now.
The company announced talks with worker representatives.
Atos is based in France.
