Ethics in the digital workplace

Procurement, HR and finance company Shared Services Connected Ltd. (SSCL) is to close three of its eight sites across the UK by the end of October 2014 with the loss of around 500 jobs. Sites in Sheffield, Leeds and Cardiff are expected to be closed.
Trade unions are being consulted about the closures, and the company hopes to support voluntary redundancy and redeployment where possible. The Public and Commercial Services union (PCS) also states that the company is planning to outsource some work overseas.
SSCL manages civil service back office functions and is a joint venture of Steria and the UK Cabinet Office.
