Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Global engineering, design and construction group URS is to recruit about 430 new staff in 2014. Additionally, the company stated that it will recruit 120 graduates and apprentices.
The company is responsible for some of the UK's highest profile engineering projects such as HS2, crossrail and the Emirates cable car. The company indicated that government investment in infrastructure projects has boosted the sector and that more is needed to encourage young people into engineering careers.
