Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Swedish Volvo group announced 508 job cuts in its Renault Trucks subsidiary in Lyon, Bourg-en-Bresse and Blainville-sur-Orne. The cuts are part of an EU-wide restructuring at the group.
On 19 March, the management gave details about the number of job cuts per plant to its central works council: 319 positions are to be cut in Lyon, 128 in Blainville-sur-Orne and 61 in Bourg-en-Bresse.
The ERM reported previously on a large restructuring measure at Renault in France, announced in early 2013.
