Description
Budapest’s public transport company, Budapesti Közlekedési Vállalat (BKV), announced to cut 900 staff in its bus transportation services. This is more than the quarter of total staff in the bus sector.
From these 900 drivers, about 320 are to be taken over by country-wide coach service provider Volánbusz.
The measure is due to pressure to rationalize the local public transport system and a significant loss in capacities.
