Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Heathrow Airport has announced that it is planning to cut 200 of 1,000 jobs from its central head office operations.
According to the management, the restructuring is following a ruling from the Civil Aviation Authority that the airport must reduce charges for airlines in real terms from April 2014. The cuts will not affect front line roles like security.
The airport employs about 7,000 staff in total.
