Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Hill-Rom, manufacturer of hospital beds and medical furniture, has announced to cut about 500 positions world-wide, mainly in the USA with 250 job cuts and 94 in its plant of Pluvignier (424 employees, Morbihan) in France. The management of Hill-Rom in France justifies this reorganisation by recurrent lower hospital budgets that limit purchases of hospital beds and furniture for patient rooms .
