Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Sonopress, manufacturer of CDs and DVSs, will close its plant located in Coslada (Madrid) on 31 March, resulting in the dismissal of 133 staff.
According to an agreement with the company’s works council, dismissed workers will receive a severance pay equal to 40 days per year worked up to a maximum to 40 months. Furthermore, there will be an early retirement scheme for workers older than 54 years.
