Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The planned outsourcing of IT activities of the mobile operator Mobistar will not destroy jobs. The 150 concerned employees can rejoin their new employer, Tech Mahindra.
Belgian mobile operator Mobistar is outsourcing its IT activities, resulting in the cut of up to 200 jobs.
The name of the new contractor will be known in the next few weeks, and thereby the Renault procedure will be launched. Currently, there is no reaction from unions.
The timeline is not confirmed yet.
Updated, 21/08/2014: As reported, Mobistar confirmed that 150 of its employees will not be affected by the measure since they wil be given the option to work at the IT outsourcing company Tech Mahindra.
