Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Car manufacturer Revoz, located in Novo Mesto (Jugovzhodna Slovenija region), is to create 270 jobs between March and June 2014. 200 employees will be hired on a fixed-term contract basis and the remaining 70 on permanent basis.
The job creation is due to the production of new models of cars as part of the so-called "Edison" project starting in February 2014.
Revoz is owned by French automotive company Renault. At the end of 2013, Revoz employed 2,036 employees. In early 2012, the company had announced to cut over 300 workplaces at its plant in Novo Mesto.
Update 27/05/2014: As reported by The Slovenia Times on May 8, Revoz currently employs 2,150 people. The production of the new Twingo city car has been launched in May (not in February as previously planned) and 270 new jobs will be created by the end of 2014.
