Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 5 February 2014 construction group Ballast Nedam announced it will cut another 150 jobs. In October 2013, the group had announced the cut of 250 jobs.Two years ago, employment stood at 4,000. After this round of restructuring , some 3,000 jobs will remain. Ballast Nedam expects to record a loss of 25 to 30 million euros over the year 2013. The unions have reacted critically to the restructuring.
