Description
DB Regio, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn operating in regional passenger transport,is to cut 600 of 1,500 jobs between 2014 and 2016.
The job cuts result of the company’s plan to streamline its administrative units in Hannover, Bremen and Braunschweig and to overall reduce the number of conductors, engine drivers, repair and service staff. To this end, some administrative positions are being relocated from Braunschweig and Bremen to Hannover. This is a reaction to increased competition in northern Germany.
There shall be no direct dismissals. Most employees shall be transferred to other DB subsidiaries.
