Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 4 February 2014, Portuguese food retail company Jerónimo Martins, owner of the store chain Biedronka in Poland, announced it plans to create over 280 jobs at the newly opened distribution centre in Kraków. The centre will supply articles to 150 stores in the region. The investment is worth approx. 100 mln PLN.
Jerónimo Martins has been operating in Poland since 1995. The company has about 2,400 stores in 900 Polish cities and 14 distribution centres across Poland. Jerónimo Martins employs over 45,000 people in Poland.
