Description
Construction group Bilfinger is to cut 800 administrative jobs in Germany until the end of 2015. This includes the closure of the headquarters of the former industrial services holding in Munich (250 jobs lost).
This is part of a global restructuring in which 1,250 jobs are to but cut in the same timeframe. The restructuring is part of a large scale plan to reduce the company’s construction activities and expand its global operations in the industrial services sector.
A social plan envisages the relocation of dismissed workers via an internal labour market pool. Management does not exclude that workers in the headquarters of other previous Bilfinger holdings in Oberhausen, Neu-Isenburg, Frankfurt and Wiesbaden might be affected by direct dismissals.
Bilfinger operated as Bilfinger Berger until 2012.
