Description
Finnish beverage producer Hartwall plans to cut up to 140 jobs. As reported, the company has started negotiations with employee representatives on the proposed cuts and the restructuring could commence in April 2014.
According to the company, the cost cutting measure is linked with the increased alcohol tax and a boost in alcohol imports from neighbouring Estonia. Employee representatives expressed surprise and shock over the proposed plan.
Hartwall is headquartered in Helsinki and its main production facility is in Lahti. For a previously reported restructuring event see Hartwall-2005.
