The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Higher education organisation InHolland announced on 15 January 2014 that it will cut 130 jobs. The need for restructuring is a legacy from the past, when Inholland was severely criticized for the insufficient quality of graduating students. This resulted in a major restructuring operation in 2012 (see factsheet 18495). The negative publicity resulted in a significant drop in the number of students. This drop in student numbers has persisted resulting in the new restructuring measure. Inholland hopes that forced dismissals will not be necessary.
