Meat giant Danish Crown is to close its two facilities for meat processing and the production of ready meals in Faaborg, making 472 employees redundant by 2016.
According to the management, this is to increase the company’s competitiveness and to cut overcapacities.
Additionally, 350 jobs are at risk in the slaughterhouses in Skærbæk, Southern Jutland, and on the island of Bornholm. These cuts are to be discussed between Danish Crown and trade unions.
Danish Crown has around 6,000 employees in Denmark.
