The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Mobile phone operator Vodafone is to cut about 200 jobs (11pc of the total workforce) by April 2014. Reportedly, this will affect mostly workers that are not in direct contact with customers.
The restructuring is part of a cost-savings plan. The profit of the company has recently dropped by 45pc.
Vodafone is headquartered in London, UK. Hundreds of dismissals were already reported in 2013.
