European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Philip Morris, the multinational company leader in the tobacco sector, has announced to invest up to €500 million in a reduced-risk product manufacturing facility near Bologna.
The new plant should be fully operational by 2016. A pilot plant is already near completion and will serve as the production facility for pilot and initial market launches. In total 600 new jobs are going to be created in both sites.
The ERM has also reported on restructuring at Philip Morris worldwide and in the Netherlands in 2014.
