Description
Salford City Council has announced plans to cut 300 jobs. This is part of a measure to save GBP 25 million from its 2014/15 budget. The city council anticipated that cuts will be made via voluntary redundancies and early retirement, avoiding forced redundancies. Labour unions heavily criticised the restructuring measure.
Salford City Council had already announced 360 job cuts in 2012.
