Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Greek telecomunication services provider Hellas Online is to cut up to 460 jobs. As reported, the cost-cutting measure is linked with the company’s decision to outsource part of its activities to a third company (360 Connect). The restructuring refers to the Customer Operations, Retail Sales and Retention units.
According to the sources, the redundant staff will be compensated and will have the chance to be redeployed in the outsourcing company. The Syndicate of Telecommunications and Informatics’ Employees in the Municipality of Attica (SETHP) denounced HOL’s decision.
