Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

French Media group Lagardère Active has announced a large restructuring plan, with the potential loss of 350 jobs. According to the sources, about 10 titles are planned to be sold (240 jobs) and also job reduction measures will take place (110 jobs). According to the unions, about 560 positions are threatened taking into account 214 freelancers.
As reported, the management wants to finalise its plan by April 2014. In 2007, the group launched a worldwide restructuring plan with 230 to 350 job cuts in France (Lagardère2007).
Updated, 27-11-2013: As reported, negotiations on a social plan between unions and the management failed. Unions have organised a strike.
