Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Fuel and forecourt retailer Euro Garages is to create an additional 650 jobs over the next 2 years. The new jobs will be at a combination of existing sites, which will be developed, and new forecourt locations.
By the end of 2014, the company aims to increase the number of its shops from currently 120 to 210.
The company said that it had benefitted from new site acquisitions and brand partnerships with companies like Starbucks, Subway and Greggs which led to strong non fuel sales.
Euro Garages is based in Blackburn. During 2013, the company had already increased its headcount from 1,150 to 1,800.
