Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Technology consulting company Altran is to reduce its workforce in the Toulouse region by 500 staff until the end of 2015.
According to media reports, this is due to decreasing demand for engineering services in the aerospace industry over the next years. The company intend to relocate the jobs within the group, which could reduce the number of dismissals.
In 2011, the group had announced a planned job creation of 400 positions.
