Description
On 4 December 2013, the Dutch insurance company Achmea announced plans to reduce its workforce by 4,000 positions over the next three years as the company seeks to increase its focus on the provision of online services. Most of the job losses will be in the Netherlands. The company is, however, not ruling out the need for compulsory redundancies. Achmea, which is the largest Dutch insurer, currently employs around 21,000 staff worldwide, 17,000 of them in the Netherlands.
