Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Call centre company Webhelp UK will create about 600 jobs in the UK within the next months. This includes full- and part-time positions.
170 jobs are to be created in Derby, 75 in Falkirk, 27 in Glasgow, 40 in Kilmarnock and about 30 in Dunoon and Greenock. The remainder of job creations will be in other locations across the country.
Webhelp UK provides call centre services for customers like Vodafone and Sky and is looking to expand its operations. Earlier in 2013, the company had already announced to create an additional 350 jobs in Scotland until 2015. It is unclear form the sources if some of the newly announced jobs in Scotland (about 60) were already reported in this previous announcement.
