Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Rhon-Klinikum, operator of clinics and hospitals, is to cut 130 to 150 positions at its headquarters in Bad Neustadt. This follows the previous sale of 43 hospitals and the ensuing decline in administrative requirements.
Although forced redundancies have not been ruled out, the company aims to reduce the workforce by discontinuingof temporary contracts and through internal relocations if possible.
The company started talks with worker representatives.
In total, Rhon-Klinikum employs 220 people in its headquarters. In 2012, 240 job cuts were announced in hospitals of which the company holds the majority.
