Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Netherlands-based technical services provider Royal Imtech is to cut additional 895 jobs at its European sites, notably in Germany, the Nordic countries and Eastern Europe (mailnly in Poland).
As announced, the group plans to cut in Germany an extra 300 FTE jobs on top of an existing restructuring. Additionally is reported that there will be 230 redundancies in Poland and 240 ones in the Nordic countries.
Imtech has already implemented a restructuring plan concluding to 1,355 job losses (seeImtech-EU2013).
