Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Nuclear technology group Areva is to create over 200 jobs in France.
This follows the award of a major services and solutions contract by energy giant EDF. Services will be provided in the nuclear power plants at Chinon, Nogent, and Belleville and will include logistical functions, facility maintenance, handling, and lifting operations.
The company has already started to recruit 50 employees and will take over about 150 employees that so far have worked for the companies that have lost the tender.
In 2011, the company had announced the dismissal of up to 250 workers and the recruitment of 1,000 new staff.
