Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Food products distributor Europeenne Food will partially be taken over by Ponoma group, resulting in 218 job cuts. Jobs likely will be lost in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges and Fresnes.
This follows a decision by Creteil commercial court on October 30. Europeenne Food had announced insolvency on 20 September and entered into administration 5 days later.
Ponoma is to take over 106 staff from a total workforce of 324. 54 workers are to be kept at the site in Fresnes (Val-de-Marne) and Europeenne Food’s headquarter at Villeneuve-Saint-Georges. The remaining 52 workers will be relocated to Ponoma’s sites in the country.
Pomona is headquartered in Antony (Hauts-de-Seine), employing 8,800 workers in 140 sites in France.
