Description
German automotive supplier Bosch is to cut up to 400 jobs in Hildesheim (Lower Saxony) until 2018.
The measure is due to weak sales in Europe and increased competition. The main part of the company’s production of starters is to be relocated to a Bosch site in Miskolc, Hungary.
The company aims to avoid forced redundancies and is to promote the relocation of workers to other production sites.
In total, Bosch employs 3,500 people in Hildesheim (of which 1,350 in the production of starters) and a total of 120,000 in Germany. For former restructurings see Bosch (2013), Bosch (2011/1) and Bosch (2011/2).
