European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Auction house (plants and flowers) cooperative FloraHolland is to cut 200 jobs during 2014.
As reported, the cost-cutting measure will affect the management functions and is due to a loss of turnover.
According to the announcement, forced dismissals cannot be ruled out. The unions understand the need for restructuring, but stress the importance of an adequate social plan.
The restructuring comes on top of earlier job reduction measures in 2013, involving 140 jobs, mainly through natural attrition.

As reported, the majority of the union members voted in favour of the social plan that was agreed between FloraHolland and the unions after several strikes were held.
