Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The bankrupt Fabryka Maszyn Tarnow is to dismiss all of its 180 staff in Tarnow. This follows a court’s decision on the company’s liquidation 15 October 2013.
The company had run deficits and had problems to finance its operations. Workers had not received salaries since July 2013. The company’s trustee announced to apply for compensation payments for workers from the Guaranteed Employee Benefits Fund.
Fabryka Maszyn Tarnow was in the hands of German GDW Werkzeugmaschinen Herzogenaurach after the latter had bought the company in 2012.
