Description
Newspapers publisher Hersant Media announced the restructuring of its subsidiary Nice-Matin with a consequent loss of 180 to 200 jobs. The reduction measure is part of a larger cost-saving plan and is to affect 40 to 50 journalists.
With the support of the Labour ministry, social partners have started to negotiate a social plan for the restructuring to be finalized by November 30th. The conclusion of such an agreement is a condition for new investors to be included in the company’s future.
In 2012, Hersant Media had announced the loss of 270 job places as the result of of the sale of one of its units.
UPDATE 29-11-2013: The management has announced to cut only 148 jobs as compared to the 183 that were previously announced.
