The recycling machinery producer Metso Lindemann is to cut 150 jobs in Dusseldorf (North Rhine-Westphalia).
The company is to discontinue its production of scrap recycling machines in the wake of falling demand for metal on the market. The remainder of the total 300 staff is to be relocated to another site in Dusseldorf.
Worker representatives have expressed their dissatisfaction with the company’s management. Unions are in consultations with Metso to ease the social impact of the dismissals.
Metso Lindemann is part of the Finland-based engineering group Metso. Metso Group employs around 27,000 staff in 150 countries.
