Negotiations with the trade unions followed in September. In order to minimise adverse social effects, unions asked for alternative plans to direct dismissals including early retirement plans, holiday cutbacks or overtime schemes.
After the first month of negotiations, the bank and the trade unions have reached a first agreement which envisages the use of measures, such as economic incentives for voluntary dismissals, the recourse to the sectoral Social Fund and early retirement measures, in order to reduce the negative social and economic effects for the redundant workers.
Updated, 15-10-2013 As announced, 110 employees have already accepted to participate in an early retirement scheme.
