Description
The Italian steel manufacturer Beltrame is to cut 65 jobs out of 580 in its plant at Vicenza.
The dismissals result of the pressure during the economic crisis and ongoing over-capacities. Negotations were announced to begin on September 13.
The trade unions reacted to the company’s decision by organizing protests asking for alternative solutions to the job-cuts.
Afv Acciaierie Beltrame is based in Vicenza and employs about 2,600 staff in 9 production plants in Europe. In 2012, the group already decided to close its plant in Marghera with a consequent loss of 117 job places.
