Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
100 jobs are to be cut at the University of Liege within the next four years.
In detail the cost saving plan envisages the non renewal of the contracts of 60 teaching assistants (temporary jobs) and the non replacement of 40 jobs of permanent staff that are going to be eliminated by means of natural attrition.
As reported, the university has to balance its budget in order to comply with specific economic regulations despite the increased number of students.
